The nucleus of the State Health Authority is the Registrar’s Office which is responsible for implementing each and every decision of State Health Authority. Previously the Registrar’s Office functioned at the Office of the Director of Health Services, Assam as a part of Director’s office. At present the Registrar’s Office has become an independent unit with separate Bank Accounts. At present it is functioning at the premises of State Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati – 781 022. In 19.12.2010, the Registrar’s office again shifted to the main building of the office of Director of Health Services, Assam, Hengrabari, Guwahati-36

Present Composition of Scrutiny Committee |

Another important organ constituted under State Health Authority is Scrutiny Committee. It is also a Seven Member Committee chaired by Director of Health Services, Assam. Addl. Director of Health Services is the Member Secretary of the Scrutiny Committee which is responsible for thorough scrutiny of the proposals of Health Establishment.

On the basis of favourable recommendation of the Scrutiny Committee, State Health Authority approves the issue of licenses to the Health Establishment. 1st Notification of Scrutiny Committee was done in 1996.
